California priest arrested on molestation charges

Father Denis Lyons, a priest of the Diocese of Orange in southern California, has been arrested on charges of abusing a teenage boy between 1992 and 1995. The diocese had settled a separate abuse case involving Father Lyons earlier this year.

A diocesan spokesman said Father Lyons was “committed to a life of prayer and penance.” The 75-year-old priest was playing cards at a local community center at the time of his arrest.
