North Carolina priest charged with obstructing justice, deleting child porn images
CWN - June 10, 2009
Father John Schneider, a priest of the Diocese of Charlotte, has been charged with obstructing justice after allegedly deleting images of child pornography from his music minister’s home computer. Until his June 9 resignation, Father Schneider had served as a parish priest and administrator of Asheville Catholic School.
His former pastoral associate for music and liturgy-- Paul Berrell, whose work is available from two major publishers of contemporary Catholic hymnals-- has been charged with taking indecent liberties with a minor.
