Lebanese prelate says Palestinians have 'natural right' to state status

The Palestinian people have a "natural right" to recognition as a sovereign state, according to Maronite Catholic Patriarch Bechara Rai.

The Lebanese prelate said that the establishment of a Palestinian state is essential to the quest for peace in the Middle East, and the fact that Palestinians are now scatted around the region as refugees is "a serious violation of truth and justice."
