Notre Dame board chairman: Father Jenkins has trustees’ ‘full support’

Catholic World News - May 15, 2009

Richard Notebaert, the chairman of the University of Notre Dame’s board of trustees, said that university president Father John Jenkins, CSC, has the “full support” of the board. “He respects people who differ, but he's resolute in his decision because he did it based on conscience and what he really believes in,” says Notebaert, the retired CEO of Qwest Communications and Ameritech.

A major Republican donor, Notebaert in June 2008 gave $67,800 to McCain Victory 2008 and $28,500 to the Republican National Committee, according to Federal Election Commission records.
