Pope prays at St. Mary Major before trip to Poland

Following his usual practice, Pope Francis visited the Roman basilica of St. Mary Major before embarking on his trip to Poland on July 27.
The Pontiff traveled across Rome on Tuesday evening, July 26, to pray before the icon of the Virgin Mary Salus Populi Romani. He has prayed before the same image just before each of his foreign trips.
