Pope laments child slavery

June 13, 2016

During his June 12 Sunday Angelus address in St. Peter's Square, Pope Francis greeted participants in the jubilee for the sick and disabled as well as participants in a Vatican conference on leprosy.

“Today is the World Day Against Child Labor,” he added. “Let us, all together, renew our efforts to remove the causes of this modern slavery, depriving millions of children of certain fundamental rights and exposing them to serious dangers. In the world today there are so many child slaves!”
