Holy See to donate world’s fair proceeds to create jobs for Iraqi refugees

May 11, 2016

The Holy See will donate funds raised at its pavilion at the 2015 world’s fair to assist Iraqi refugees in Jordan.

Visitors to the fair in Milan, officially known as Expo 2015, donated $150,000 at the pavilion. The funds, entrusted to Caritas Jordan, will provide permanent work for 15 refugees for six months, job training for about 200, and temporary work for about 500, the Holy See Press Office announced on May 10.
