Cardinal to receive Italian literary prize

The Italian government will present its 2016 penna d’oro (golden pen) prize to Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi, the president of the Pontifical Council of Culture.

Established in 1957, the prize honors writers and journalists who have brought honor to the nation. Last year’s recipient was Eugenio Scalfari, a journalist who has interviewed Pope Francis.
