Bishop Wenski offers Mass of reparation for Notre Dame decision
May 04, 2009
Bishop Thomas Wenski of Orlando offered Mass on May 3 in reparation for the University of Notre Dame’s decision to award President Barack Obama an honorary degree. “We Catholics have become too complance about the legal killing of unborn children in America and elsewhere,” he said. “This complacency contributed to the climate that led Notre Dame’s president to think it would be no big deal to defy the bishops in granting this honorary degree to President Obama.”
Bishop Wenski is one of 55 of the nation’s bishops who have publicly criticized the university’s decision.
