Vatican loath to give publicity to new Ron Howard film

Publicists for Angels and Demons-- the new movie by Ron Howard based on a novel by Dan Brown of Da Vinci Code fame-- are energetically pushing the idea that the Vatican has orchestrated an effort to boycott the film. In fact the Vatican has done its best to ignore the project, recognizing that the producers are looking for free publicity, and being "careful not to play their game." Most news accounts, nonetheless, have accepted the publicists' line.
