Pope, Curia begin Lenten retreat

March 07, 2016

Pope Francis and members of the Roman Curia traveled to a retreat house in Arricia, a town 15 miles from Rome, for their Lenten retreat.

The retreat began on the evening of March 6 and concludes on March 11.

Father Ermes Ronchi, an Italian Servite theologian, is leading the annual spiritual exercises, whose theme this year concerns the questions asked in the Gospel.
