Russians plunge into icy waters to celebrate Epiphany

Celebrating Epiphany on January 19, its date on the Julian calendar, numerous Russian Christians plunged into frigid waters, blessed by priests, in commemoration of Christ’s baptism.
Agence France-Presse estimated that two million nationwide took part in the tradition this year.
