Iraqi Shi'ite leader backs call for restoration of seized Christian homes

Muqtada al Sadr, the influential Iraqi Shi’ite leader, has called for the restoration of homes that have been stolen from Iraqi Christians.
When Christians fled from their homes in Iraq, in the months of turmoil following US military intervention, many profiteers moved in to seize the properties. Christians in Iraq have asked the government to stop the seizures and return the properties to their rightful owners. The Islamic leader has now backed that demand.
