Pope returns to Rome, visits Marian basilica

Pope Francis returned to Rome on November 30 following his six-day apostolic journey to Kenya, Uganda, and the Central African Republic.
Upon arriving in Rome, the Pope visited the Papal Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore to thank the Blessed Mother for protecting him during his journey, Corriere della Sera reported. The Pontiff also visited the basilica the evening before his journey.
