On 4th anniversary, Pope Benedict thanks faithful for prayers

Pope Benedict XVI offered thanks for the prayers and greetings he had received as he marked the 4th anniversary of his election as Roman Pontiff. Speaking to a midday audience at Castel Gandolfo, where he had spent the week following Easter, the Holy Father remarked that “I never feel alone.” The unity of the faithful in prayer is never as powerfully evident as it is during the Easter season, he added. Pope Benedict returned from Castel Gandolfo to the Vatican on Sunday evening, April 19.
