Vatican to build Europe's largest solar facility

The Vatican is planning to construct the largest solar-energy plant in Europe, on a site north of Rome where the Vatican Radio broadcast facility was established in 1931. While many analysts argue that solar energy is not cost-effective, the Vatican is going ahead with plans to invest $660 million in the plant, to be located in Santa Maria di Galeria.
