Ontario parents plan school strike to protest sex-ed curriculum

September 24, 2015

Parents of children in Ontario’s public schools are organizing a strike for October 1, to protest a new sex-education curriculum.

The Canadian Families Alliance, which claims to represent 200,000 parents, is organizing the strike, following the example of a predominantly Muslim group in Thorncliffe Park. That group has pulled roughly half of all students out of local schools for the month of September, in a gesture to call attention to their dissatisfaction with new curriculum.
