Remains of pope who abdicated office survive earthquake damage

The mortal remains of Pope Celestine V-- who was corned by Dante but canonized by the Church-- have been transferred from an earthquake-damaged church in L'Aquila, Italy, to a safer location. A hermit, he was elected to the papacy in 1294 but abdicated after just 5 months to return to his ascetical life.
