The prefect of the City of Rome has said that he sees a “concrete and real threat” of terrorist attacks during the Jubilee Year.
“But like all threats, that doesn't mean we have to shut ourselves down,” said Franco Gabrielli. He said that the city will take security precautions to minimize the danger. Gabrielli, who is coordinating the city’s planning for the Jubilee Year, has also expressed a determination to avoid corruption in the handling of funds for construction projects and other special programs associated with the preparation for the Jubilee.
