Vatican releases hymn for jubilee year of mercy

The Pontifical Council for Promoting the New Evangelization has released the official hymn of the upcoming Jubilee of Mercy, which begins on December 8.

The title of the hymn is the same as the jubilee’s motto: “Misericordes sicut Pater” (Merciful like the Father). The hymn was written by Father Eugenio Costa, an Italian Jesuit, and set to music by Paul Inwood, an English organist and composer.
