Crackdown on human rights advocates in China
July 14, 2015
The Chinese government has detained over 100 human rights advocates since July 10, according to multiple reports.
“This is certainly a coordinated, organized crackdown, not ordinary law enforcement,” said Fu Hualing, a law professor at the University of Hong Kong, according to the South China Morning Post.
Among those detained are attorneys who have attempted to defended religious-freedom rights, Christian Solidarity Worldwide reported.
