Poland accepts Syrian Christian refugees
July 13, 2015
About 150 Syrian Christian refugees have arrived in Warsaw, and will now formally request asylum, as Poland begins accepting Christian refugees from the Middle East.
The refugees arrived on July 11, on a chartered plane from Beirut. Poland may admit as many as 2,000 refugees, as part of the European Union’s plan to ease the immigration crisis.
The Poland government’s policy has drawn criticism, however, because only Christian refugees are being accommodated.
