Rhode Island church vandalized
July 06, 2015
Vandals struck a Catholic church in Providence, Rhode Island, on July 4, smashing the pulpit and defacing statues.
The attack came as a shock to Father Joseph Escobar, who said that the church is located in a quiet neighborhood and has never previously been targeted for violence. Although the damage did not disrupt scheduled services, it was evident to parishioners who attended an anticipatory Mass on Saturday evening.
