Sisi invites Pope to visit Egypt
June 16, 2015
President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi of Egypt, joined by the head of the Coptic Orthodox Church, has invited Pope Francis to visit Egypt.
“There is no official confirmation on what newspapers publish, but certainly a visit of Peter's successor in Egypt, in this historic moment, would be great comfort and encouragement also for all Christians in the region,” Coptic Catholic Bishop Antonios Aziz Mina told the Fides news agency.
