May 01, 2015

Archbishop Blase Cupich has named a woman with a business background to be the chief operating officer of the Chicago archdiocese.

Archbishop Cupich, who was installed last November to head the archdiocese, announced that Betsy Bohlen would begin her new duties on July 1.

Bohlen, a graduate of Notre Dame, earned a degree in business administration from Harvard. She has worked for 16 years at the McKinsey consulting firm, becoming a partner in 2003.

I take it that Ms Bohlen has signed a contract of employment in which she declares that she will not do anything or say anything that is contrary to the teaching of the Church?
