Kentucky court upholds right of business to refuse to print gay pride T-shirts
April 29, 2015
In 2012, Hands On Originals, a business in Lexington, Kentucky, refused to print gay pride T-shirts. Two years later, the city’s Human Rights Commission ruled that the company had violated an anti-discrimination ordinance.
A Kentucky judge has now invalidated the Human Rights Commission’s decision, ruling that the company’s owners should “not to be compelled to be part of the advocacy of messages opposed to their sincerely held Christian beliefs.”
