Papal charity sends $100,000 to Nepal earthquake victims

The Pontifical Council Cor Unum, the charitable arm of the Holy See, has pledged $100,000 in immediate relief to victims of the earthquake in Nepal.

The donation from Cor Unum, which will be relayed through the local Church to support aid operations, work with the homeless, and medical care for survivors. The $100,000 sum is “a first contribution,” the Vatican said, with other episcopal conferences around the world also promising donations.
