LCWR leaders praise Pope, curial officials
April 21, 2015
The president-elect and past president of the Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR) praised curial officials following recent annual meetings in Rome.
The meetings are distinct from the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith’s recently completed assessment of the LCWR.
“I was impressed just at the universality of their concern as well as some of the things that they were focused on,” such as migration and human trafficking, Sister Marcia Allen said in an interview with the National Catholic Reporter.
Following a meeting with Pope Francis, Sister Carol Zinn said, “You can tell that at a feeling level, that he is heartbroken about the suffering in the world. Truly, truly heartbroken. He suffers. You can just feel that.”
