Slovakian president meets with Pontiff

April 09, 2015

Pope Francis met on April 9 with President Andrej Kiska of the Slovak Republic.

A brief Vatican statement released after the meeting said that the “cordial” discussions, centered on bilateral relations, but also included world affairs and particularly a discussion of the Middle East. The Slovakian president’s visit came just after the 25th anniversary of the restoration of diplomatic ties between the Holy See and what was then Czechoslovakia.
