European bishops’ organization criticizes surrogacy

A working group of the Commission of the Bishops' Conferences of the European Community (COMECE) has published a document criticizing surrogacy as a “frontal assault on fundamental shared EU values.”
“The crucial question in law is whether we want to establish a society in which children are produced and sold like products, and whether we are aware of the consequences for the way in which we think of them, as well as for the resultant human and social relations,” the document concluded.
