Papal telegram to new Italian president

Pope Francis sent a telegram of good wishes to Sergio Mattarella on January 31, the day of his election by parliament as Italian president.
The Pontiff prayed that the 73-year-old president would undertake “enlightened action in the promotion of the common good, in line with the authentic human and spiritual values of the Italian people.”
