Catholic parishes in Crimea re-register with Russian authorities
January 22, 2015
Heeding Russian law, the Diocese of Odessa-Simferopol, whose territory includes Crimea, has reregistered its parishes with the Russian government.
“Today we sent the documents to Moscow and are waiting for answers,” said Auxiliary Bishop Jacek Pyl, according to the Religious Information Service of Ukraine.
Russia annexed Crimea, which had previously been Ukrainian territory, in March 2014.
