Luxembourg legalized euthanasia, passing over Grand Duke's refusal

Luxembourg has become the 3rd European nation to allow legal euthanasia, after parliament voted to approve a measure protecting doctors from prosecution if their patients seek help in ending their own lives. Because Grand Duke Henry II had refused to give his consent to the legislation, parliament also approved a constitutional amendment allowing the enactment of a new law without the Grand Duke's approval.
