Papal visit to Ireland 'possible' for 2016

A visit to Ireland by Pope Francis is possible for 2016, but not for next year, says Archbishop Charles Brown, the papal nuncio in Dublin.

The Pope has received formal invitations from Ireland’s political leaders. Archbishop Brown said that he was “a groundswell, I think, of support for that idea.” But the Pope, who has not made frequent foreign trips, will not put a visit to Ireland on his calendar for the coming year.
