Fired employee files federal discrimination complaint against Chicago parish

A Chicago parish’s former music director, who was fired after he announced his same-sex wedding plans on Facebook, has filed federal and local discrimination complaints with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Cook County Commission on Human Rights.

The Chicago Tribune reported that hundreds of parishioners voiced their support for Colin Collette at a town hall meeting and that the former music director met with Cardinal George in the months following his July firing.
