Mexico City: 5,000 confessions in a day

Nearly 5,000 Catholics received the sacrament of Reconciliation in one day, in a special initiative by Cardinal Norberto Rivera Carrera, the Catholic News Agency reports.
To prepare for Advent, 30 priests took 12-hour shifts hearing confessions in the Mexico City cathedral on November 29, the eve of the 1st Sunday of Advent. Catholics stood in line for hours to confess their sins.
The cathedral also offered an Advent meditation; the preacher entitled his talk “Coming Home.”
