Caritas assisted nearly 800,000 people following Philippine typhoon

Caritas, the Church’s confederation of relief and development agencies, has assisted nearly 800,000 people in the Philippines in the year since Typhoon Haiyan killed over 6,000 people and caused over $2.8 billion in property damage.

The organization reported that it has constructed over 3,700 permanent homes and over 35,000 clean water facilities over the past year.
