Coptic leader: Western policies have fostered rise of Islamic extremism

The head of Egypt’s largest Christian body said that Western policies have fostered Islamic extremism in the Middle East.
Coptic Orthodox Patriarch Tawadros II made his comments as he concluded a visit to Russia, according to a report from the Fides news agency.
He said that “some thought that America could protect us” when extremists burned dozens of Egyptian churches in 2013, but “no one did anything.”
