Prelate grateful for diplomat’s efforts to end war in South Sudan

The chairman of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Committee on International Justice and Peace has expressed gratitude to the United States’ special envoy for Sudan and South Sudan for his efforts to end the South Sudanese Civil War, which began in December 2013.
Bishop Richard Pates of Des Moines expressed gratitude to Ambassador Donald Booth for his willingness to collaborate with Catholic Relief Services. “Let me reiterate our commitment to work with you to bring peace and prosperity to South Sudan,” the prelate said.
