LED lights planned for Sistine Chapel

The Vatican Museums are planning to install low-energy LED lights in the Sistine Chapel, in a move intended to save costs and reduce the Vatican’s carbon footprint.
Some 7,000 small LED lights will illuminate the famed Michelangelo frescoes in the Sistine Chapel. The change is one step in an ambitious plan by Rome’s Mayor Ignazio Marino to replace all of the city’s public lights with LED devices.
