Nuns' voter guide emphasizes amnesty, gun control, climate change

October 09, 2014

A community of Catholic women religious has released a voters’ guide for the 2014 midterm elections, encouraging American voters to support amnesty for undocumented immigrants, government action on climate change, gun control, and defense budget cuts.

The Sisters of Mercy of Silver Spring, Maryland, argue that voters should question political candidates about their views on racial profiling and the UN’s convention on discrimination against women.
