Nuncio: international community has duty to stop Islamic State

October 08, 2014

In an interview with Vatican Radio, the apostolic nuncio in Lebanon lamented the plight of millions of refugees in the Middle East and said that the international community has the duty to stop the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.

“The Holy Father has said … that the international community has a responsibility to stop the aggressor according to international law,” said Archbishop Gabriele Caccia. “There are mechanisms to find a consensus to protect the civilian population which is unarmed, which is without protection since the state [Iraq] is not able to protect them. And, we face a new reality which goes beyond the borders of a single state.”

“And maybe this gives occasion also to go a little bit beyond what has already been done,” he added.

It seems that the entire prelature suffers from an advanced case of a.d.d. "And maybe this gives occasion to go a little bit beyond what has already been done"? Stop the aggression first, give the muslims their judgement day asap. Then, and only then, do u go beyond. One wonders how these guys manage to dress themselves in the morning, while they flit around from task to task.
