Read Luke 6, Pope Francis emphasizes

September 12, 2014

On several occasions during his pontificate, Pope Francis has urged the faithful to read, and reread, the Beatitudes and Matthew 25.

Preaching on love of enemies during his September 11 daily Mass, the Pontiff also emphasized the importance of reading Luke 6.

Pope Francis called upon those in attendance at Domus Sanctae Marthae to “read the 6th chapter of St. Luke-- and reread it and reread it and reread it-- and let us do so-- and let us ask the Lord for the grace to understand what it is to be a Christian, to understand the grace He gives to us Christians, as well, because we cannot do it on our own.”
