September 12, 2014
Two subcommittees of the US House of Representatives held a joint hearing on the persecution of Christians and other religious minorities in Iraq and Syria.
“The suffering and abuse of Iraqi minorities continues, and I say here and now we have not seen the worst of pain and sorrow,” said Pascale Warda, president of Hammurabi Human Rights Organization. The number of persons displaced by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, said Warda, has now exceeded 1.5 million.
