Italian bishops, Vatican Secretary of State meet for lunch with Italian premier

Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Vatican Secretary of State, met with Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi on September 9, along with several other Italian bishops and leading members of the Italian government.

"We talked about jobs and work, issues that are dear to all of us," reported Cardinal Gualtiero Bassetti, one of the prelates involved in the luncheon meeting.
