400,000 children in Gaza need psychological help after violence, Catholic agency says

Caritas Jerusalem, the Catholic relief agency, has estimated that 400,000 children in Gaza need psychological care because of the damaging effects of military campaigns in the region.

Caritas Jerusalem, which supplies psychological services to those in need, quoted a UN study showing that children "represent the part of the population which suffers most the consequences of armed conflicts."

    Minnesota Mary: "Maybe some day..." as long as terrorist organizations are allowed to control people and invoke Islam to give authenticity to their actions, then the suffering will continue as long as they exist. Those of us who have experienced war know what it's like to have been bombed by terrorists.

    One only needs to take a tour of the Gaza strip or view pictures of the wreckage to know that the estimate of 400,000 children needing psychological help after the violence is not out of line. Maybe some day we will find out what it is like to have the hell bombed out of us.

    I can't help but think that the children living in Israel worry about Hamas and other terrorist groups launching rockets, blowing up things and killing people in their country too.

    I am always suspicious about these kinds of figures. Just how would one come up with this kind of figure? How meaningful can such an "estimate" really be?
