Caritas appeal for Indian flood victims
September 02, 2014
Caritas Internationalis, the Church’s confederation of relief and development agencies, has issued an appeal for $1 million to assist victims of flooding in the eastern Indian state of Odisha (Orissa).
“Millions of people have been displaced and many have been marooned, with their houses and all their basic belongings completely submerged by water,” said Thangsha Sebastian of Caritas India. “They have no idea what the coming days hold for them.”
