Papal encouragement for Work of Nazareth

August 22, 2014

Pope Francis met with members of the Work of Nazareth on the evening of August 20 and encouraged them to witness to Christ joyfully in the midst of their charitable activities.

Founded in 1964, the international association of the faithful seeks to “to ensure that everyone is able to find the face of Christ today, as mediator to the Father and never dissociated from his love for humanity’s destiny of happiness, in everyday life in the family, society, the workplace and day-to-day concerns, professions and environments,” according to a 2005 document of the Pontifical Council for the Laity.

“Jesus is the way open in front of each man,” said Pope Francis. “When someone discovers Jesus as the way, joy comes into his life.”
