Hundreds of Christians convert to Islam in Turkey

Nearly 800 persons, three-quarters of them Christian, have converted to Islam in Turkey over the past five months, according to a report from the Fides news agency.

616 of the 779 conversions were from Christianity. A significant number of converts are foreigners living in Turkey, including 150 Germans and 52 Russians.

Turkey, a nation of 81 million, is 99.8% Muslim.

    Reminds me of election results in the old Soviet empire where 99.8% of the votes were regularly cast for some character who had evil written all over his face. It's surprising what violence or even threats of violence can do.
