Census Bureau will recognize same-sex 'families'

The US Census Bureau has announced that it will categorize same-sex couples as “families.”
The Census Bureau said that the change in policy was warranted by the shift in American public opinion. Same-sex couples has previously been categorized as unmarried.

Warranted by a shift in public opinion or warranted by a shift in morality at the White House? I think we all know what is the real reason for this decision to weaken the English language and enthrone sin in law (that's what it really afoot here).
